Actress Parineeti Chopra has been basking in the success of her latest film ‘Amar Singh Chamkila’ and has been earning accolades for her performance of Punjabi singer Amarjot Kaur.

The actress, who has also sung songs with the film's lead actor, Diljit Dosanjh, in the movie ‘Amar Singh Chamkila’, offered prayers at the most revered Siddhivinayak temple in Mumbai. Parineeti, who was seen in a white suit with a dupatta, offered prayers and later distributed modaks to the waiting paparazzi and her fans.

She distributed the prasad and asked the waiting photographers to first have ‘prasad’ and then click pictures.

Parineeti Chopra has been praised for her performance of the slain singer Amar Singh Chamkila’s wife, Amarjot Kaur. She and her singer husband were killed by unknown assailants in 1988 in a village near Jalandhar.

Before leaving, she thanked all her fans for showering Chamkila with so much love.

‘Amar Singh Chamkila’ has a rating of 8.5/10 on IMDB. The movie, directed by Imtiaz Ali, has been earning praise from all quarters.

Critics have praised Diljit’s performance, and even actors have said that no one else could have played the part of Chamkila other than Diljit.

Even Priyanka Chopra had congratulated her sister Tisha (Parineeti) and Diljit for their stupendous performances in the movie.

During his concert in Mumbai, Diljit Dosanjh, who is loved by fans across the globe, addressed the audience and said people would often say, “They said Punjabis can't do fashion, and I said, I will show you. They said Punjabis can't act in films; I showed them I could. They said Punjabis did Punjabi movies but couldn't go to Mumbai, and I proved them wrong.

Chamkila’s music, while loved by many, also faced backlash for its bold lyrics, especially from conservative sectors, ultimately contributing to his premature death at just 27- years -old.

His partnership with his wife, Amarjot Kaur, marks the start of a significant chapter in his life and music career.

The singer shot to fame with his song 'Takue Te Takua' and went on to deliver many hits. His songs are still famous in Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. Now, thanks to the movie, the entire world is hearing this legend, who was also called 'Elvis of Punjab.'
